Monday 7th April Rome Day 3

We set off early (8am) in a taxi to connect up with our tour guide for our Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and Basilica tour. This tour was excellent and I would highly recommend to anyone using the viator.com site to pre-book and pay for tours before leaving home. Everything I did with group turned out perfectly and were well organised with very good guides. Well what can I say able the museum the history was in every space within these buildings. Our guide was able provide us with lots of information associated with all the works . The Sistine Chapel was smaller than we expected but that could have been to do with the fact we were shoulder with people and could only shuffle our way to the other end. Not good for those us who get a bit antsy in crowds of people but I survived. After the chapel Tony walked us around the Basilica and gave us ample time to take it all in. I thought it more impressive than the chapel but that is just my opinion. After a quick visit to the post office…mum posted some post cards home from Vatican city (smallest country in the world). After cab ride back to Termi Station we had a coffee and organised validation of our train pass for tomorrows trip to Florence. Back to the hotel about 4pm for a rest….who knows we may or may not go out for dinner.
